Beyond the Edge Ltd have been providing technical and expert advice to a variety of outdoor companies and businesses for over twenty years and we are delighted to be listed on the new Association of Mountaineering Instructors register of technical Advisors. We offer advice on mountaineering, indoor and outdoor climbing, hillwalking, abseiling and outdoor pursuits we are able to provide technical advice, consultancy and technical expert advisor services for schools, academies, climbing walls, DofE and rope courses.
The Association of Mountaineering Instructors has developed a register of its members who in addition to their high-level qualification, all possess a range of skills, knowledge and competence, and who have completed additional training in order to fulfil the Technical Adviser role and have their name added to the Technical Adviser Register.
The Technical Adviser is someone holding specific qualifications, skills, competence and experience to provide advice to any business on managing their business. Whilst an employer might use their solicitor to give technical advice on the legal aspects of their business, Mountaineering & Climbing Instructors provide technical advice on mountaineering, hill walking, abseiling, indoor and outdoor climbing, ropes courses, outdoor pursuits and other related activities (e.g. Covid-19 compliance).
The Technical Adviser role is required for a licence to be granted through the Adventure Activities Licensing Service, and more generally through the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999).
