Beyond the Edge Ltd have been providing technical and expert advice to a variety of outdoor companies, schools and businesses for over twenty years. We are delighted to be listed on the Association of Mountaineering Instructors register of technical Advisors. We offer advice on mountaineering (including overseas expeditions), outdoor and indoor climbing (including climbing wall design), hillwalking, abseiling and outdoor pursuits.
After a free initial telephone consult, we will normally undertake a visit to fully understand the requirements and carry out any initial scoping inspections. Depending on distance travelled (within 45mins of Sheffield is normally free) and scope this may attract a small charge. Following the visit we will agree a scope of works, deliverables etc and sign a contract.
The Technical Adviser is someone holding specific qualifications, skills, competence and experience to provide advice to any business on managing their business. Whilst an employer might use their solicitor to give technical advice on the legal aspects of their business, Mountaineering & Climbing Instructors provide technical advice on mountaineering, hill walking, abseiling, indoor and outdoor climbing, ropes courses, outdoor pursuits and other related activities.
A Technical Adviser is required for a licence to be granted through the Adventure Activities Licensing Service, NICAS, and more generally through the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations (1999).
