Inspired by the likes of Al Humphrey and Brendan Leonard, we’ve been trialling a new mid-monthly newsletter to share interesting bits and bobs from around the web.
Sometimes we’ll mention our courses in this newsletter, but mostly it’s about what other folk, organisations and our team are up to outside of Beyond the Edge.
This is in addition to our monthly newsletter (in the first week of the month) telling you more about what we’re up to and sharing our blog posts.
You’ll find March’s edition here, and subscribe to receive April’s newsletter here.
If you’re not sold yet though, you can read the contents of our February Inspiration newletter below (in a slightly less newslettery format).

You will probably have met Alex on a Beyond the Edge course (he is the longest-serving member of the team – at least 25 years!).
Alex is also an artist and photographer. He was recently interviewed for the Opinel website, where he talks about some of his work examining the human experience and the natural world.
Wild about Kinder podcast
AboutTheAdventure.com
What makes you wild about Kinder?
A podcast by Sarah Lister from About the Adventure for anyone curious about Kinder and the Peak District.
Wild about Kinder is a series of interviews with locals and advocates who work, live, volunteer and play around Kinder Scout.
Really good listening for leaders and enthusiasts alike, listen to it here.
Helen Mort – The Wild in Me
This time of year we spend a bit more time sat at desks scratching our heads than usual.
This video featuring Helen Mort from a few years ago was a reminder that it’s still important to get outside for a potter if just to relax or unlock the creative side of your brain.
Helen Mort and Sophie Sparham will be delivering a two day poetry workshop for Beyond the Edge on Sat 6 – Sun 7 May.
ShAFF: 3 – 5 March
Sheffield Adventure Film Festival is a yearly staple in the film festival calendar. The festival itself has been and gone for this year, but ShAFF put on events throughout the year in-person and online.
Visit their website for online talks, films and more throughout the year: https://shaff.co.uk/shaff23/online
