Scrambling In Snowdonia
Cicerone have just released an updated version of their classic guidebook Scrambles in Snowdonia. Being honest, it was desperately needed as guidebooks have moved on and The Gary Smith North Wales Scrambles was far superior to the old version.
Both ourselves and our clients have been enjoying the amazing scrambles in these books on our Scrambling Courses for many years.
The classic lines are justifiably popular, but there are many less frequented gems that are well worth seeking out. I challenge anyone not to have a huge smile on their face after completing the scrambling and caving expedition that is the Chasm face on Glyder Fach. Done in the wet it has all the hallmarks of a semi drunken foray up Lockwoods chimney!
The new version of Steve Ashton’s original guide has some additional routes and now has lots of high quality Scrambling photographs to inspire you and OS maps to guide you to and ip your chosen adventure. A full review will follow shortly after we have field tested it.
To celebrate the new version, Beyond the Edge have a free copy to give away.
To enter the draw, email us with the names of the three Scrambles in Snowdonia in these photos of BtE Scrambling Courses. And the tricky one – name the pass on the world famous classic Scramble in the Nepal Himalaya. Hint, its near Everest and you just know you want to head out there. The view is rubbish after all…
If you don’t have the time or cash to head out to Nepal, indulge yourself, and join us on a Scrambling course in Snowdonia and check out some of the routes for yourself. We have courses for all abilities, from the Classic Grade 1 scrambles of Crib Coch and the NE ridge of Tryfan to the esoteric middle grade outings on Mynedd Mawr or Carnedd y Filiast and the challenging routes of Glyder Fach.
We will make the draw on 10 September and contact the lucky winner shortly afterwards.
Good luck
