NNAS Tutor Award
A one day workshop on teaching navigation.
“…a really interesting, thought provoking and practical course… It managed to strike an excellent balance between reinforcing the core concepts of the NNAS scheme and giving lots of practical strategies and techniques for really enhancing navigation coaching…” John
Who is it for ?
The National Navigation Award Scheme Tutor Award is for those who either currently teach or want to teach navigation. It is also useful for those who are working towards a Hill and Moorland Leader or Mountain Leader qualification.
NNAS Tutor – Course Overview
This teaching navigation workshop looks at skills and techniques that can be used to introduce or develop navigational skills both in the classroom and also outside. Throughout the day a wide variety of different techniques will be examined and the opportunity for candidates to share their experience and knowledge from their own practice will be given.
In addition to being a mandatory qualification for NNAS award providers, holders of the NNAS Tutor award are able to assist in the delivery of Bronze Navigator courses under the guidance of a NNAS course director.
Successful participants need to apply to NNAS prior to working for a course director or becoming a provider.
Successful completion of the NNAS Tutor award workshop also counts as 1 CPD point for Mountain Training Association members.
