Managing Fear Of Heights

A very powerful and highly practical two days to help you understand and manage your fear of heights.

Delivered by David, a psychologist, coach and therapist with 30 years experience of working with anxious individuals (including himself!) and Chris, a hugely experienced leader, mountaineer and outdoor instructor with decades of experience in coaching clients.

Who is it for ?

Suitable for anyone whose fear of heights is holding them back.

For some it might be a reluctance to use an escalator for others, it might be that burning desire to conquer that rocky ridge, if only it wasn’t so steep… It doesn’t matter what your starting point is (well okay it does, Alex Honnold please don’t book on…) it is about understanding fear as a completely natural an appropriate response and learning how to manage the irrational element and celebrate the rational – it keeps us safe!

Managing Fear of Heights – Course Overview

He who fears he shall suffer, already suffers what he fears.” Michel de Montaigne

On the morning of day one, we introduce the psychological concepts of fear & anxiety, unpick some of the triggers for your fear of heights, and give you a toolkit for managing that fear.

After lunch, through a very carefully graduated series of exercises we use your newly learned personal psychological toolkit to build your confidence in mastering your fear. Everything we do, is challenge by choice. Whilst you will be encouraged to keep developing and refining your personal toolkit your fear of heights, you will never be forced.

We return to the hotel for a cuppa and a chat about what we achieved. We also invite folk to join us for a complimentary evening meal at around 6pm.

On day two, equipped with your new found skills in managing fear and brimming with confidence we develop these skills slowly. Increasing the stimulus at a rate appropriate to you.
